Navigating Triangle Families Through the College Selection & Financial Aid Process
New and Improved FAFSA Print E-mail

Good news!! The Department of Education has announced a plan to simplify the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Any parent who has filled it out in the past knows how daunting the application is to fill out.

The new FAFSA will shrink approximately 20%. That means 20% less questions that parents have to worry about.

The Department of Education has also announced plans to team up with the IRS to verify FAFSA data so that schools don't have to collect tax returns from families. This will free up time for the schools and streamline the process for families applying for aid.

it's essential that all families with a student heading to college submit a FAFSA. Only 54% of families file FAFSAs, which means a lot of families are losing out on financial aid.

The new and improved FAFSA will roll out next January.
